Principal's Message

Due to a surgery, I was unable to attend graduation and the end of the school year. I wish all of our students a great 9th grade year.

I have enjoyed my 5 years at Northlawn!

Mrs. Jancek
December is my favorite time of year. I love all of the beautiful decorations and of course all of the holiday treats. For some it is a difficult time. I am working very hard to teach students about caring for others and giving to others. We have been focusing on fundraising and buying groceries for families during the holidays. We are also starting a can food drive this week. Students are helping to decorate our school Christmas tree.
We have great kids at Northlawn and it is wonderful to see them reach out doing kind things for others.
Happy Holidays!
Mrs. Jancek
November is here and the leaves are changing colors. Don't forget that Daylight Saving Time Ends on Sunday. (Fall Back). We had our Halloween Dance on Monday and it was a great success. Students had a lot of fun and behavior was wonderful. For our Prowl A Thon, we have raised over $400 and are looking forward to buying gifts for Kimes students and Thanksgiving meals for families in need.
New Year
The new school year has started off very well. I am excited to have such a great group of fifth graders join us. This Friday we will be having our Northlawn Olympic Day. We hope that our students will see the fun things they can do when their behavior is good and they follow school expectations.Safety, Respect, Responsibility and being Ready to learn are expectations at Northlawn. WE would rather reward our students than consequence them. I'm looking forward to a great year!
Mrs. Jancek

Welcome Back
It is hard to believe that July is almost here. Mr. Ahearn, Mrs. Martin, and the custodial staff have been hard at work preparing for the new year. Your teachers have been taking classes and coming up with great lessons for the start of school. Everyone needs a little bit of a break, but we are excited for you to return. I am also eager to get to know our new fifth graders. Enjoy the rest of your summer break.
Mrs. Jancek
Box Tops, Labels and Pop Tabs
Please continue to bring in Box Tops, Soup Labels and Pop Tabs. We are collecting these items to raise money for our school. Box Tops and Labels allow us to offer reward activities in our grade levels. We are collecting pop tabs to for a service project that many of our students will be able to take part in. The project is called Feed Our Starving Children.

Thank you for your help!
Mr. Wilkinson will be meeting with community members in the Northlawn library on February 8th to discuss the upcoming tax referendum. All are welcome to attend. Please arrive at 5:25PM.
Thank you
PARCC Testing
PARCC testing will begin for 6th and 7th grade students when we return from Spring Break. Please make sure your child gets a good night of sleep each night before testing. 5th and 6th grade students will test during the last week of April. All students will be practicing PARCC tests at school. Students should also eat breakfast each morning. Northlawn does serve a free breakfast each morning.
